COVERACK ART SOCIETY
COVERACK ART SOCIETY
Coverack Art Society is a very active club that meets regularly at the Lambeage Hall to paint and put on exhibitions. All ages and abilities are welcome, and the atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly.
The Coverack Art Society, formerly known as the Coverack Art Club, was founded in 1972. In the last year or so we have acquired a number of new members, and membership currently stands at around 35. We have some experienced artists in our ranks, but newcomers of all abilities are always given a warm welcome, and offered every encouragement. The kettle is always on the go, and participants bring their own packed lunches, or heat up soup in the hall kitchen. The hall is well heated and cosy, even in the coldest weather.
We meet at Lambeage Hall on Mondays from the beginning of September until the end of June, apart from Bank Holidays. We start at 10.30am and finish at 3.30pm, and participants can come for full sessions, or attend for only part of the day if it suits them better.
In the summer months we meet at various outdoor venues to paint.
We have regular workshop days at Lambeage Hall with visiting artists – usually on a monthly basis. These take the form of a practical demonstration, followed by an afternoon session when participants can try out new techniques and styles, guided by the visiting artist.
