After a massively ambitious five-year building journey, we are thrilled to open our doors to a space that’s more welcoming and accessible than ever. The star of the show? Our incredible new balcony, stretching along the seaward side.
Step into the Community Hall via our brand-new bridge, then take the platform lift or stairs down into a bright, modern foyer and bar area, with new accessible facilities. From there, slip through the patio doors onto the balcony for breathtaking, uninterrupted views across Perprean Cove all the way to Chynalls Point. Our fabulous team of volunteers have also carried out much of the refurbishment and furnishing of two rooms downstairs.
Grab a drink, take in the sea breeze, and come see what we’ve built for you! ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
One of the least glamorous, but most important activities in 2019 was the repairs to the foundations. The Committee had bold plans to improve Lambeage Hall, in particular making it accessible for disabled people, and improving the facilities.
Before this could be commenced, we needed to secure the existing building. Our structural engineer was very concerned at the state of the foundations, and for a short time all activities in the hall had to be suspended.
With the help of vigorous fundraising, a proactive quantity surveyor, and a committed builder, we were able to complete repairs to the foundations on programme and within budget, enabling the hall to reopen for the Arts Festival that was held in July 2019. The scheme selected not only prevented the foundations from collapsing, but also provided an additional secure, dry storage room for the hall's ancillary equipment, such as marquees and seating. Timber racking has since been added down the length of the 'new' room, which improves its usefulness even more.
Then the next phase of the development plan started . . . . . . .

Our HUGE thanks go to everyone who has helped with Fundraising Events and Generous Donations which helped with the running costs during the time the hall was closed.
Our particular thanks go to Terry Thompson and friends in the village who gave their time and worked so hard with painting, sanding and varnishing, as well as revamping the bar and so many other jobs which has made all the difference!
