SAVE LAMBEAGE!
THE LAMBEAGE HALL – THE STORY SO FAR . . .
Since the Lambeage Hall was built in 1922, it has weathered many storms, seen many changes, extensions and some well-intentioned improvements which caused problems with the foundation. For us to refurbish and develop the hall further, we needed to ensure the current and future structural integrity of the building.
In February 2019 we launched a programme of fundraising, and thanks to the incredible generosity of the community, Parish Council, and numerous events including the first Coverack Arts Festival, we were delighted to be able to complete a project to secure the foundations, and at the same time create valuable storage space. The cost of this phase was £27,500 which is fully funded.
We have also secured a grant of £9,946 from the Lottery Awards4All which will enable us to make a start on subsequent phases.
We see a great future for the Lambeage Hall, and we need your help to make this happen.
We are particularly interested to hear your ideas for the future of the hall.
We have an enthusiastic, hardworking and dedicated committee, and have recruited an excellent team of professionals to carry the scheme forward. We are now seeking donations and grants to fund the next stages to allow us to improve the facilities, both inside and out, to make Lambeage Hall a more welcoming community space.
Ways you can donate:
Drop cash/cheque into the ‘Save Lambeage’ box at the Coverack village store. Please make cheques payable to Lambeage Hall and pledge Gift Aid if you are able.
Or online through our Virgin Giving page.
Your donations will help:
Update and improve the interior - refurbish toilets, kitchen, bar and stage, repair the curtains and repaint.
Improve the outside - undertake improvements to the building including providing facilities for disabled access, signage, exterior decoration, balcony, public address system, improved parking and outside area, and landscaping.
The wider business plan for the Lambeage Hall:
To prepare a scheme for future development of the hall
To support and encourage existing activities – Coverack Ju-Jitsu, Coverack Films, Coverack Art Society, the Coverack Arts Festival, theatre, music, art, horticultural events, weddings and parties
To encourage new and regular activities and events for the community such as indoor bowls, adult education, and plans suggested by the community.
